Goal 6: Supportive Systems for Lifelong Learning

image Learning is a constant through life.  From early childhood education to classes for seniors, the Berkshire region has a strong network of committed educational institutions including early childhood care centers, grade schools, high schools, and colleges. The Compact for Higher Education is actively working to shift the educational expectation of all youth in the Berkshires from 12 to 16 years. The numerous colleges in the region offer opportunities for higher education, workforce development, and continuing education for adults.  This culture of learning is one the region is committed to continuing to grow and strengthen by offering students the opportunity and environment to learn.

We are working as a region to:

    • Children Arrive at School Ready to Learn
    • Young Adults are Well-Prepared to Live Happy and Productive Lives
    • Education System Supports Employer Needs
    • A Culture of Lifelong Learning
