Goal 2: Efficient and Responsible Municipal Services
There are thirty towns and two cities in Berkshire County. Each town provides a range of services to its residents including road maintenance, public safety services, inspection services, and parks and recreation. Some towns offer fewer services due to budget constraints and resident expectations; many are struggling to fund services from year-to-year. State funding for local municipalities has been on the decline, a trend that is expected to continue in coming years. It is therefore all the more imperative that our towns and cities make decisions that make efficient and effective use of resources today and enable future generations of residents to do the same.
We are working as a region to:
- Develop and Invest in an Economically Responsible Manner
- Provide Economically Efficient and Effective Services
- Foster a Sense of Community Safety
